• The M727 is based on the Colt Model 727, which has the following features: a 3rd generation buffer tube, giving it 4 adjustable stock positions, a short ribbed handguard, A2 style rear sights, a forward assist and a case deflector, and an M4 style barrel profile.
• Predominantly used during the 1980s & 1990s, one of the predecessors to the modern day M4.
• Its use in film includes Black Hawk Down, notably in the hands of Eric Bana & William Fichtner among other Delta Force operators & Army Rangers.
